Ruby on Rails: notes and background exports

You will use Ruby 3.4 and Bundler and build a web app named notes-web plus a worker named notes-worker in the examples Project’s rails Environment.

This is a small Rails API application using Rails routing and controllers. Active Record handles PostgreSQL and MariaDB (the Trilogy adapter); the Mongo Ruby driver handles MongoDB. It deliberately has no asset pipeline or database-backed job framework: the worker chapter shows the Redis queue directly.

Complete Before you start, then follow these chapters in order:

  1. Create and deploy hello
  2. Persist notes in PostgreSQL
  3. Add a Redis export worker
  4. Save exports in object storage
  5. Try MariaDB or MongoDB instead
  6. Prepare for production, or troubleshoot and clean up
